During the airshow, Scott Jiang, regional director of Cirrus in China, shared that as China's economy continues to grow, experience-driven consumption will be increasingly integrated into people's lifestyles. In the future, more individuals will obtain private pilot licenses, spend leisure time flying, and even own private aircrafts.
Cirrus, founded in 1984 in Wisconsin, USA, is a leading global manufacturer of private aircraft, specializing in the design, production, and sale of single-engine pistons and jets. According to Frost & Sullivan, Cirrus accounted for 32% of the global private aviation market in 2023, ranking first in the industry by aircraft deliveries.
Scott said that as China's low-altitude economy develops, the demand for private planes is also increasing. Currently, Cirrus is mainly targeting the pilot training market and the private plane market in China.
Data from Civil Aviation Administration of China reveals that in 2023, China's civil aviation market saw record highs in aircraft ownership, flight hours, and the number of companies. By the end of 2023, China had approximately 5,000 general aviation aircraft (excluding drones), a 5% increase compared to 2022.
