11月11日至22日,《联合国气候变化框架公约》第二十九次缔约方大会 (COP29)在阿塞拜疆首都巴库举办。11日，“生态文明与美丽中国实践“边会在中国角成功举办，联合国前副秘书长兼环境规划署执行主任埃里克·索尔海姆(Erik Solheim)向边会进行致辞。索尔海姆表示，中国在环境保护方面走出了一条特色鲜明的道路，通过植树、建立自然保护区保护濒危物种、以及结合自然环境和文化遗产的保护，为世界其他国家提供了借鉴。他号召全世界携手打造更美丽的地球家园。(陈天浩)
Erik Solheim, former UN Environment Executive Director and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations delivered a speech to a side-event at China Pavilion during the COP29 held in Baku, Azerbaijan on Monday. During the speech, Solheim noted that China has forged a path of environmental protection no one can copy. Through planting trees, protecting species, and balancing the protection of natural environment and cultural heritage, China set an example to the world. (Chen Tianhao)
